SERVER INFORMATION
Server Overview
The minecraft server at 3decibels.net runs casual SMP (survival multiplayer) open for use by anybody who wishes to join. We use a Purpur server running no plugins or modifications that change gameplay in order to provide a close-to-vanilla experince.
There is currently no set player cap, bandwidth usage & server resources will help dictate a limit if one is eventually imposed.

Rules
The following is more a collection of guidelines versus actual rules.
- Have Fun! Minecraft is an incredibly open game and the possibilies of what you can do are endless. Build something cool, go exploring, collaborate on a large project, mine until you drop!
- No Griefing. Nobody likes people who are jerks. If it isn't yours think twice about doing something to it. There are no set consequences for people who grief and hopefully none will ever have to be set. This is not a free pass. This server has modifications installed that allow moderators to see who did bad things. People who do things that are not nice will have not so nice things done to them in return if necessary. I am proud to say that so far we have had a great community and have rarely ever had to place a ban.
- No Stealing. Similar to the above rule, don't take anything that isn't yours. Use common sense. Obviously it's okay to take things you find out in the wild, but going into someone's home and taking things out of chests or off of item frames is not allowed, even if you think they don't play anymore or won't miss it. This server uses logging software to track all interactions with chests, item frames etc.
- Be Space Conscientious. While there are no set boundaries it should be obvious when somebody inhabits an area. Be nice to their resources and ask before building anythig that may impact the land. If you're not sure ask on the forums or place a sign to see if anyone responds!

The server is hosted on a different machine than the one that is displaying this webpage. Just because you are reading this does not mean the server should be up. The above lines will tell you if the physical server that minecraft is running on is reachable from the gateway and if minecraft has been found running on the machine. If any of the above are bad then you will not be able to connect to the server =(
