Sorry about that, Wireguard broke unexpectedly. It's fixed now, I'm going to keep my eye on it to see if it happens again.

Minecraft 1.19 is live! The map is offline for now, I still have some work to do to get it back up and running.

Enjoy!

Thanks! NekoKaori did a good job with the new page. I hate designing webpages as the previous site probably made clear.

I'll be honest, I started a 1.18 server up just to test and forgot it was running. I also didn't realize the NAT was working! I'm using nftables + wireguard this time around instead of iptables + openvpn. I stood everything up a little while ago and forgot I had already placed the NAT!

The 1.18 world currently running will be replaced with a 1.19 world, probably within the next few days, certainly before the weekend is over.

The new page looks great!  Glad to see a new server up.  Will the 1.19 update be a new world, or going with the 1.18 world there now?

Small update:

The new server is tested and ready, but starting a 1.18 server right now doesn't make sense when 1.19 is set to drop on June 7th. We'll wait until 1.19 is available and then use that so we have the latest and greatest right from the get-go.

Thanks!

Announcements & Events / New website, new server

Hi All,

As you may have noticed, we have a new website courtesy of our own NekoKaori! The forums have also been updated to version 2.1 of SMF. Sadly the user avatars got a bit confused during the transition, you'll need to upload a new avatar for your profile. Confusingly, our old avatar will show up as being in use when you try to change it, but it won't actually show up on your posts unless you re-upload.

The new server is under construction, I'm hoping to be back in business with a new map in the next week or so.

Thanks!

Sounds like a lot of fun....  ...and by "fun" i mean a pain in the neck.

Good luck, hope to see the fruit of your efforts soon!

Sadly I have no ETA on this. The server is down as a result of the log4j vulnerability. Mojang did not issue a patch for the version we were running and even though I turned off log message interpolation I still saw an indicator that a compromise occurred so I took it down out of caution. The server will have to be rebuilt from scratch. In addition, I'm also in the middle of a different project to move the VPS that acts as the gateway, so there are a few different pieces that need to be taken care of before everything is back. When I know more I'll update here.

Any further word on this?

Hi All,

We skipped 1.17 in order to wait for the huge changes in world generation that were bumped to 1.18. Once it was announced that many of the cave changes would be further bumped to 1.19 I contemplated whether we should continue to wait for that or forge ahead with 1.18. In the end I've decided to continue with doing a map reset for 1.18. To get the 1.19 caves we'll just need to travel to unexplored areas. I'm currently waiting for PaperMC to declare their server builds stable and then we'll do the reset, probably within the next few days as they're typically pretty quick to update.

If there are any objections speak now!
