Announcements & Events / Rain is gone forever
Last post by 3dB - December 13, 2016, 02:23:54 AM
Some of you may have noticed that over the past month it has not rained on the server, which is a bit of a change from the norm of having it rain all the damn time. Malaclipse found a way to disable the rain forever, so it has become a thing of the past.

If for whatever reason you want some rain in your life, let us know.

Announcements & Events / Spawn point move for 1.11
Last post by 3dB - November 20, 2016, 03:53:29 PM
For 1.11 we're trying something new. Typically when an update contains things that require new terrain to be generated, we'll nuke the existing map and start fresh. That has always been a drag to folks who didn't want to see their hard work erased, and now that updates are more frequent it's entirely possible that we'd be wiping the map twice a year or more. Malaclipse suggested that instead of erasing the map, we simply move the default spawn point to somewhere far away. Others agreed with this suggestion and we're giving it a try.

The old world spawn point now contains a teleporter that can transport you to the new spawn point, so you don't have to walk. There is also a teleporter next to the new spawn point that will take you back to the old one, so you can try out the new area without having to worry about how you'd get back if you wanted to.

What does everyone think about this new method? Good, bad? Let me know below if you have any comments or complaints.

We moved the spawn instead of reseting the map. There is a teleporter from the old world to the new world at the old and new spawn respectfully. Enjoy!

I think we should coordinate a map reset day!

Announcements & Events / No map reset for 1.11
Last post by 3dB - October 14, 2016, 02:40:53 AM
Just a quick note now that 1.11 is in the pipes: There will be NO map reset for the release of 1.11. There are no major changes to how terrain generation works that would require resetting, so we'll be keeping what we have. You might need to travel into unexplored territory to find a town with a cartographer or see a llama, but that's not a big problem.

In other news, chickens in 1.11 will now have neck textures.

Wat.

Map icons are broken once again. Turns out the previous fix didn't resolve the whole issue and the method we use to get them from Mojang needs to be changed up a bit. I'll probably work on this next week. Until then, the face icons will be outdated if you change your name or your face.

Announcements & Events / MC 1.10

Mojang has officially unleashed version 1.10, the Frostburn Update! I'm stunned at how quickly this update came out considering the length of time in between 1.8 and 1.9 was the longest in between versions in Minecraft history.

With the slow pace of updates over the past few years I've been making it policy to refresh the world for every major version. That's not going to happen this time, obviously. This update came out so quick, the world is still pretty new!

Enjoy!

Announcements & Events / MC 1.9
Last post by 3dB - February 29, 2016, 02:42:28 PM
Minecraft 1.9 has been formally released! The server has been wiped as per usual to give us a fresh start with the new major version of Minecraft.

The map has been pointed to the new world, but it may take some time to start working as the software we use to create it has not been updated to 1.9 yet. I'm hoping it'll be fixed and working within the next few days.
Update: Map is up and working!

Enjoy!
