2011-11-10: Initrd build failure

Tonight the server became unable to operate properly after a routine update failed during a rebuild of the initrd. Not only did this cause the device to become inoperable but it was unable to be properly rebooted due to the corrupt initrd images. The system was taken down for recovery and was able to boot and funtion as normal after the images were rebuilt, though currently it has returned to being unhappy for unknown reasons.

Troubleshooting will continue tomorrow.
