HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE FORUM

Hi All,

The spam bots have discovered our little corner of the world and recently began flooding the forums. I've cleaned up all the spam accounts and posts and hopefully have not missed any. I have fought spam on other forums before but with as little use as this forum sees it's not worth the time and energy to install and tweak all the tools necessary. Instead I have instituted mandatory admin approval for all new accounts.

If you would like to register for the forum please do the following:

• Send me an email at 3dbAT3decibels.net (replace the "AT" with an "@"). Make sure to include the forum username you want as well as your Minecraft username. I will check the Minecraft server logs to verify that you have logged onto the server before, so please make sure you have popped on to say hello at least once in the past month or so.
• Wait for me to approve your registration. I will register you and have the forum software generate you a temporary password. I check the site mailbox somewhat infrequently so it may take a little while. If you know how to contact me IRL or know somebody who can please do so so that I can make sure you get processed ASAP.

Sorry for the somewhat draconian nature of this change. This is the most surefire way to keep spam out. Hopefully the scourge will pass and registration can be reset to something a bit easier.

Edit: Just as an example of how bad it is right now, in the time it took me to write this post we had 3 new spam account registrations appear in the approval queue. Yuck.
