Glass Panes

I noticed breaking glass panes doesn't give me a glass pane back. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am unsure if this is a bug or something purposely changed. Anyone read anything on the topic?

Last I read about this there was some debate as to whether this was a bug or the fact that you got glass panes back in 1.8 was a bug in itself which has now been fixed...

Neither way was a bug. They decided to change the behavior to act like regular glass.
